Tribal chairman Robert Martin spoke at the Jan. 11 Good Morning Beaumont Chamber of Commerce breakfast about the projects and the influence that The Morongo Band of Mission Indians has had on the San Gorgonio Pass Area.
Martin said that one of the biggest accomplishments has been the $250 million resort and a 36-hole golf course at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon.
City of Beaumont to sponsor Symetra golf tour, the qualifying tournament for LPGA players

The city of Beaumont will pay $10,000 to become a sponsor of the upcoming Symetra golf tour taking place March 27-29 at Morongo Tukwet Canyon Golf Course in Beaumont.
The vote was 4 to 1, with Mayor Rey Santos as the dissenting vote.
City manager Todd Parton told the council at the Feb. 18 meeting that they had received a request for sponsorship from Morongo.
Morongo Charity Golf Tournament raises $100,000 for two charities
Press EnterpriseThe Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon was a different kind of green on Monday, June 10, as hundreds of golfers putted through the casino’s 23rd annual Morongo Charity Golf Tournament.
Money that the tournament raised — $100,000 — was split evenly between two charities: the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass and The Unforgettables Foundation.

Morongo is raising the bar for dining and cocktails with the opening of its distinctive new sports lounge at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon.
More than 200 dignitaries, community leaders and tribal members joined the Morongo Tribal Council on Friday, February 2 to celebrate the grand opening of the elegant new sports lounge overlooking the 36-hole championship golf course.
